The Phillimores
- 66 Apartments
- 207 000sq ft
- £75 million
- 2000-2004
Designed in the Renaissance manner by Charles Holden, the construction of this Grade II listed building began in 1915 as a college for women.
Our design for this award winning scheme featured a mix of 66 contemporary and classical apartments, extensive underground leisure facilities and car parking and a magnificent ‘hotel style’ reception housed in the original refectory.
Other rooms of architectural and historic importance have been preserved and incorporated within the scheme of largely laterally converted apartments that range from 2000 sq ft to 5000 sq ft.
By contrast the north wing, which was completely rebuilt behind the existing façade and extended by an additional storey, offers stunning, split level apartments which combine a contemporary design within a period setting.
