Phillimore Square

  • 8 Houses/32 Apartments
  • 200 000sq ft
  • £75 million
  • 2002-2006

This two acre site in the heart of Kensington formed part of Kings College until 2000, when Nilsson’s were appointed to prepare designs and obtain planning permission for a residential scheme that would meet and maximise the client’s brief for ‘modern family living in a mix of houses and apartments’.

In response to the prestigious - and thereby demanding - nature of the site’s location, our designs resulted in the creation of a new London garden square which features eight substantial six bedroom houses to the west and east sides and a block of 32 apartments to the north.

The careful massing and disposition of the proposals enabled visual permeability of a scale that reflects and enhances this protected conservation area.
